Through our galleries we tell the story of the Corps of Royal Engineers and how Sappers have helped the British Army live, move and fight for over 300 years. Displays chart the development of military technology as well as the experiences of individual soldiers in the Napoleonic Wars, 19th Century wars of conquest, the two World Wars and later conflicts.

Highlights include 25 Victoria Crosses, Wellington’s map of the Battle of Waterloo, weapons from the Zulu War, an amazing collection of bridge laying tanks, the world’s first guided torpedo and a V2 rocket.

Throughout the year our Galleries are enhanced by special events, exhibitions, talks and tours. See Calendar for more information.

Tickets are valid for 12 months so if you don’t have time to see it all you can come back time and again.
