Britten War Requiem Prints

September 5 @ 10:00 am - December 17 @ 5:00 pm

A series of 8 prints and linocuts by Ruth Dent, inspired by Britten’s War Requiem as sung by the Rochester Cathedral Choir.

Incorporating a personal element from the artist’s Great-great Uncle, Harry Hayter, the art represents human skill and individuality, as well as capturing the spirit of the music and words used by Britten:

“My subject is War, and the pity of War,
The Poetry is in the pity …
All a poet can do today is warn.”

Exhibition entry included in general admission price.
